History
Born from the parent company MAESTRIA and space actors (including CNES materials laboratory), MAP company has kwown, over the years, how to grow and sustain its activities through the creation and development of its departments ...
- MAESTRIA 1963
- MAP déco 2003
- MAP silicones 2005
- MAP Emc/Atex 1996
- MAP Aéro 1992
- MAP Space 1986
1963, Birth of the parent company:
When in 1963, Paul Maes, Chemical Engineer, created, at Pamiers, Fabrication de Peintures de l’Ariège (FPA - MAESTRIA), he had no idea he wrote the first episode of a great adventure. Quickly, the quality and variety of paintings are established and commercial antennas go beyond the south-west France.
1986, Setting up of MAP company:
The recognized expertise of MAESTRIA company and CNES Materials Laboratory create a synergy around a common project: to provide space industrialists with quality service and expertise, through the manufacture and application of coatings for launchers and satellites.
1988, Ariane 4 :
First use of antistatic protection coatings, MASTIC AS and MAPAERO STATIC B, on Ariane 4.
1992, Setting up of MAPAERO company:
Always in the interest of sustainability, the aeronautic activity initiated within MAP gives birth to MAPAERO.
1996, Setting up of EMC/ATEX Department:
The exploitation of space technologies enables MAP to open a new department dedicated to coatings for electromagnetic shielding and electrostatic protection, with the development of water-based paints with the lowest VOC levels in the market.
2003, Setting up of MAP Déco & advent of Ariane 5 :
To complete the coating range, MAP Déco (formerly VERNIPLAST) enters to the fold of MAP and can offer a complete solution, electromagnetic shielding + finish paint to manufacturers.
Application des revêtements MASTIC AS et MAPAERO STATIC B sur Ariane 5.
2005, Setting up of Silicones Department:
In creating the Department of synthesis and formulation of silicone, MAP has directed its development towards an innovative, competitive solution, in line with European environmental directives (VOC and hazardous materials limitation - RoHS, REACH). Thus, the silicone resin modified deeply the paints and coatings industry.
Therefore MAP adopted a non-dependence strategy towards North-American technologies ( ITAR/EAR risk).
